Why does furniture cost so much in Huntsville? Because local retail in a metro of 492K people (median household income near $64K) can charge what it charges. Francis Retail sells liquidation inventory from our own warehouse and ships it to your AL address on a flat-rate freight lane built for sofas and sectionals.
Alabama tax handling on furniture orders: unless we've crossed a nexus threshold in AL, Francis Retail doesn't collect state sales tax at checkout — Alabama use tax may apply per state law. The practical upshot: a piece of furniture that lists locally in Huntsville with tax baked in often costs materially less when you order from us and pay flat-rate freight, even after freight is added. We do the math on the landed-cost table below so you can see exactly what a specific SKU costs delivered to your AL door.

How furniture freight delivery works
Curbside + liftgate
Standard freight is curbside with liftgate: the driver lowers the pallet to your driveway or curb. Moving it inside is up to you unless you add inside delivery.
Two-man inside delivery (white-glove)
A 2-person crew brings your items inside your home, to the room of your choice — not just the curb. One flat $300 per order. Assembly isn't included.
Furniture shipping to Huntsville — FAQ
Does Francis Retail ship furniture to Huntsville, AL?
Yes. Huntsville is on our Warp freight lane. We ship sofas, sectionals, and beds from our Santa Fe Springs, California warehouse to the Huntsville metro at flat-rate freight. The lane covers Huntsville proper and nearby areas including Madison, Decatur, Athens.
What's included in the furniture freight rate to Huntsville?
Pickup from our 1,980 miles-away Santa Fe Springs warehouse, LTL freight transit on Warp's Huntsville lane, curbside delivery with liftgate, and carrier scheduling. The one optional add-on — two-man inside delivery (white-glove) for a flat $300 — is a visible line item at checkout, not hidden inside the base rate.
How long does it take to assemble furniture after it arrives in Huntsville?
Varies by item — boxed sofas typically take 30-90 minutes with basic tools, larger pieces 2-4 hours. Freight delivery doesn't include assembly; the two-man inside delivery add-on ($300) gets it to the room of your choice in Huntsville, ready for you or a local handyman to assemble.
What happens if furniture arrives damaged in Huntsville?
Inspect every piece before signing the Bill of Lading (BOL). Write any visible damage on the BOL before the driver leaves Huntsville — that's critical for our carrier claim. Photograph the freight, packaging, and pallet, email photos plus your order number to [email protected] within 48 hours, and keep all packaging until the claim is closed. We resolve verified damage at no cost to you — replacement parts, repair, a replacement unit, partial credit, or a return with refund, at our election.
What does inside (white-glove) delivery cost on Huntsville furniture shipments?
Checkout offers one delivery add-on: two-man inside delivery (white-glove) for a flat $300. A 2-person crew brings your furniture inside your AL home to the room of your choice instead of leaving it at the curb. It doesn't include assembly. Without it, freight to Huntsville is curbside with liftgate.
How does furniture ship on freight to Huntsville?
Most sofas and sectionals fit on a single 50×50×85-inch pallet under 850 lb, which is Warp's flat-rate ceiling on the Huntsville lane. The crew at our Santa Fe Springs warehouse boxes, wraps, and palletizes each item. If your specific SKU exceeds the ceiling (oversized pieces, multi-box sets), checkout will show a custom quote instead of the flat-rate number — no surprises.
