Product Condition Guide
At Francis Retail, every product is graded by our team so you know exactly what you're getting. Here's what each condition means.
All products are inspected and graded
Unless listed as "As-Is," we inspect and grade every item before listing it. Refurbished items go through an additional restoration process in our warehouse. Condition grades describe each item as assessed at listing and are not a warranty; see our Terms of Sale.
Factory Sealed
Product is new and has never been opened or used.
Brand New
Factory sealed, unopened. No cosmetic damage to box or product.
New – Damaged Box
Factory sealed product inside, but box has cosmetic damage (dents, tears, sticker residue). Product itself is untouched.
In Box (Opened)
Product is in its original box but the packaging has been opened.
In Box – Like New
Opened box, unused product. No cosmetic damage to product. Box may have minor wear.
Open Box (No Original Packaging)
Product does not have its original box. Condition varies.
Open Box – New
No original box. Brand new product with protective wrappings still on. No damage.
Open Box – Like New
No box. Product appears new with only minor cosmetic imperfections (light scratches, shipping scuffs). May have been refurbished by our team.
Open Box – Good
No box. Fully functional with moderate cosmetic wear (scratches, small dents, scuffs).
Open Box – Fair
No box. Fully functional but has noticeable cosmetic wear.
Refurbished by Francis Retail
Professionally restored by our team. Tested, inspected, and ready for use.
Refurbished – Like New
Professionally restored by our team. Looks and works like new. Tested and inspected.
Refurbished – Good
Professionally restored by our team. Fully functional, minor cosmetic signs may remain.
Used
Previously owned and used. Fully functional unless otherwise noted.
Used – Like New
Previously used. Looks and functions as new with minimal signs of use.
Used – Good
Previously used. Fully functional with some cosmetic wear.
Used – Fair
Previously used. Functional but has noticeable cosmetic wear.
As-Is
Sold in current condition. May have functional or cosmetic issues.
As-Is / For Parts
Sold as is, with all faults. The entire risk as to quality and performance is with the buyer; if the item proves defective after purchase, the buyer assumes the entire cost of all servicing and repair.
Our Refurbishment Process
Many of the products we sell go through our in-house refurbishment process. Our team cleans, repairs cosmetic damage, tests functionality, and restores items to like-new condition whenever possible. Refurbished products are clearly labeled so you know they've been professionally restored before reaching you.
