Why does recliners cost so much in Charlotte? Because local retail in a metro of 2.8M people (median household income near $74K) can charge what it charges. Francis Retail sells liquidation inventory from our own warehouse and ships it to your NC address on a flat-rate freight lane built for recliners and power recliners.
The physical reality of shipping recliners is where freight quotes get complicated: weight, dimensions, and distance all move the price. Our lane to Charlotte is flat rate under Warp's 850-lb, 50×50×85-inch pallet ceiling, which covers the vast majority of recliners and power recliners we sell. Anything that busts the ceiling gets a custom freight quote at checkout — you'll never see a "starting at" price turn into something else after you've already decided to buy.
Every recliners shipment to Charlotte includes liftgate — the driver lowers the pallet to ground level on a hydraulic gate so you don't need a dock. For a flat $300, two-man inside delivery (white-glove) brings it to the room of your choice — a visible add-on at checkout.

How recliners freight delivery works
Curbside + liftgate
Standard freight is curbside with liftgate: the driver lowers the pallet to your driveway or curb. Moving it inside is up to you unless you add inside delivery.
Two-man inside delivery (white-glove)
A 2-person crew brings your items inside your home, to the room of your choice — not just the curb. One flat $300 per order. Assembly isn't included.
Recliners shipping to Charlotte — FAQ
Are the recliners items shipped to Charlotte new, open-box, or used?
Every recliners listing shows its condition: New (sealed, unopened), Open Box (returned or display, inspected and graded), or As-Is (visible wear, sold at deeper discount). Condition is disclosed on the product page before you add to cart — no bait-and-switch when the pallet arrives at your Charlotte door.
How long does it take to assemble recliners after it arrives in Charlotte?
Varies by item — boxed recliners typically take 30-90 minutes with basic tools, larger pieces 2-4 hours. Freight delivery doesn't include assembly; the two-man inside delivery add-on ($300) gets it to the room of your choice in Charlotte, ready for you or a local handyman to assemble.
Is shipping recliners from LA to Charlotte really cheaper than buying locally?
On most SKUs, yes. Our recliners is priced 40-80% below retail because it's liquidation inventory, not fresh retail stock. Even after adding flat-rate freight on the 2,380 miles Charlotte lane, the landed cost usually beats what the same piece sells for at Charlotte retail (where 2.8M residents pay full markup). The landed-cost table on this page shows the exact math.
Can I pick up recliners at a Charlotte freight terminal instead of having it delivered?
On several Charlotte lanes, the carrier supports terminal pickup, which saves the residential delivery surcharge. Email [email protected] or call (562) 568-8883 before placing the order and we'll confirm whether your specific recliners item supports Charlotte-terminal pickup and what the savings would be.
How much recliners do you actually stock?
Our Santa Fe Springs warehouse runs 10,000+ sq ft of active inventory with new truckloads arriving weekly. Discount Recliners & Chairs turnover is fast — the product grid on this page is a live slice of what's in stock and freight-eligible for Charlotte today. Items can move before a NC order ships, which is why we hold a unit once you pay.
What happens if recliners arrives damaged in Charlotte?
Inspect every piece before signing the Bill of Lading (BOL). Write any visible damage on the BOL before the driver leaves Charlotte — that's critical for our carrier claim. Photograph the freight, packaging, and pallet, email photos plus your order number to [email protected] within 48 hours, and keep all packaging until the claim is closed. We resolve verified damage at no cost to you — replacement parts, repair, a replacement unit, partial credit, or a return with refund, at our election.
